Ai Engineering took part in the 20th edition of the Advanced Building Skins Conference & Expo (ABS 2025), held in Bern on November 3–4, 2025.
Recognized internationally as one of the leading events dedicated to innovation in high-performance building envelopes and façades, ABS brings together architects, engineers, researchers, and companies every year to discuss the latest research, technologies, and sustainable design strategies related to the building envelope.
During the conference, architect Carlo Micono from Ai Engineering presented the research “Biophilic Design and Building Envelope Performance” within the session “Performance of the Building Envelope”, which he also chaired.
His presentation explored the role of biophilic design in the architectural conception of building envelopes, highlighting the correlation between building physics and plant biology. The adopted approach employs advanced tools such as dynamic energy modelling and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses to assess environmental performance parameters related both to occupant comfort and to the factors supporting vegetation life in large, naturally conditioned glazed spaces.
Ai Engineering’s participation in ABS 2025 reaffirms the company’s commitment to promoting innovative and sustainable solutions for architectural design and building energy efficiency—reflecting its vision of a built environment in harmony with nature.
