Urban regeneration and tall buildings: Ai Engineering at the international “Tall Buildings” conference

How can tall buildings contribute to urban regeneration processes? This was the central theme of the 15th edition of the “Tall Buildings and Urban Regeneration” conference, promoted by Guamari at the Triennale di Milano, a key event for dialogue among designers, universities, institutions and industry operators on development models for contemporary cities.

Eng. Marco Brugo, CEO of Ai Engineering, took part in the day’s first panel, “PROMOTING URBAN REGENERATION,” with a presentation that, together with Prof. Roberta Ingaramo, President of the Turin Order of Architects, focused on the case of Turin, examining the relationship between vertical development, the real estate market and urban transformation. The talk highlighted the prospects of the Spina Centrale towers within the Gregotti-Cagnardi Master Plan and their outcome 35 years after its conception, as well as the potential of the Lingotto cluster generated by the construction of the Piedmont Region Tower, emphasizing how the success of major regeneration projects depends on the ability to integrate planning, infrastructure, investment programming and implementation timelines.

The day featured contributions from leading figures, including Patricia Viel, Cino Zucchi, Guendalina Salimei and Piero Lissoni, alongside representatives from public administrations, universities and businesses.

Ai Engineering’s participation confirms the company’s role in the debate on urban regeneration and integrated design, contributing technical analysis and expertise to the discussion on development strategies for Italian cities.
